I remember hearing that you will be most like the 5 people you surround yourself with. You will be closest to them in education, financial status and outlook on life. So if you want to improve yourself, improve the people you’re around.
I took it to heart when it comes to working out! These are my Tuesday – Thursday noon TaeKwonDo buddies. They’re amazing! Most of them are black belts – and the ones that aren’t are almost there! These guys kick hard. They punch fast. They jump high. They fight fair. They push themselves…. and therefore, they push me. I’ve surrounded myself – MOST DEFINITELY – by people who are better than I am – way better! And I learn from them every single workout. Thanks, guys!
Today I tested for my Green Belt. I got the ‘nod’ from Master Edwards after my form, but I won’t know if I passed officially until the next time I attend class. And I did break two boards – Step-Behind-Side-Kick and Bam! Evidence in the photo! Next time is three boards (I’m gonna get that on video!).
So if you want to be better, surround yourself with people who are already where you want to be, doing what you want to be doing. You’ll get there a lot faster than trying to do it on your own! Green Belt HERE I COME!! Whoop! Whoop!
